Rayyan Harris is prefect beautiful and charming handsome prince born via c-section at Tawakal Hospital after 12 hours fighting and struggling for normal birth. The doctor had recent found out that he was stuck by his umbilical cord and that prevent him from going out. So we have opt for c-section immediately. The moment he was handed to me by the nurse, a smell from heaven come to my sense and I’m crying over saying prayer of thankful to Allah s.w.t.

After his 1st year development, he started to learn to stand and walk. Nothing wrong that he might encounter during his development. He is a strong boy, quiet and charming handsome looking prince and apple to the family. He started to stand with his both feet in tip toe like many others child would be. We have consult his pedi and he have assured us that is normal for toddlers when they started to walk and it will go down over the time. He have also check both Rayyan Harris tendon and found it as normal healthy child can be.

Yes, Rayyan Harris eventually the feet came down when we do his walk excessive. He walk straight and sometimes he tip toeing. But we could not even bother to stress him to put both his feet on the ground from time to time. He learn to walk independently until he reach 1 year 5 months where he does not need any help from holding. It was the miracle moment for me and my family. I have cried and been teased by my husband on how sensitive am I.

Due to me and hubby busy schedule, we had put all our trust to our maid in giving the attention and care to Rayyan. Result on that, he never wore shoes before only sock 24h 7. He walk on style that he likes which is the tip toeing and it became habit for him.

We did seek advice unofficially to our relatives who studies and pratice medicine on Rayyan Harris condition, they asked us to do pyhsio on Rayyan Harris feet muscle in order to preventing it become tight. But the more we do, Rayyan do complaint hurt.

Time passing by and my hubby decide not to concentrate on his feet but put more attention on his mind and speech development. In that way, he said if we do treatment on his feet he able to communicate with us rather than shooting bullets blindfold. So we concentrate on his speech and brain development. We potty trained him starting 2 years and within 5 months he able to tell us when he want to pee and poo.  His speech become better, he able to speak 2 to 4 words at the time and tell us on what he need and want. He knows what feeling are and how to deal with it. It is a major success for us both in ensuring our child development continues.

Time passing by and his tip toeing getting more worst. He often said that his both legs cramp and unable to walk longer as his weight is getting heavier each month. Yes, he is a healthy boy. Eats almost anything except candies or extra sugar product. Milk feeding is well with nutritious fruits and vegetable accompany his dietary.

So, we have seek for advice from a well know orthopedic doctor from famous private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. He is certified orthopedic doctor with well recognition in Malaysia. My mom is one of the patient who seek advice from him.

So we went for consultation with him on 2nd February 2012 as I’m on leave for 8 days clearing my last year annual leave. Everything went well and he has admit that this is the first case that he handle for toddlers age 2 years and 9 months and he’s medical experience is only for young adults.

Because of that he has refer us to his best friend in KPJ Damansara. The friend that he refer too are well known for babies, toddlers and young adults facing problem with their bones or muscle. His expertise is under orthopedic pediatrician and trauma.

We had this tutorial in our keeping for quite sometimes and glad to have it share with you guys.

Aqiqah & Cukur Jambul Personalized Egg

What you will need:

hard boiled eggs

red dye (or any other color you prefer)

silhouettes

x-acto knife (or scissors)

cutting board

marker

contact paper

Directions:

Start by tracing the silhouettes on the contact paper. Once you have all the silhouettes traced, start cutting their outlines with x-acto knife or scissors. Next, pill off the back and stick the silhouette on the egg. Burnish the outside edges with your thumb. This will keep the dye from penetrating – resulting in a sharp silhouette.

Once you’re done sticking all the silhouettes on the eggs, start immersing them in the dye. Allow them to sit for about 2-5 minutes until you get a nice saturated color. Remove the egg from the dye and pat it dry with a paper towel. Start to pill the stickers and violá! You just made silhouette Aqiqah & Cukur Jambul personalized eggs!

Black Pepper Beef with Lemon Chicken

Confection from one of my brother friend, she never taste lemon chicken before. Quite surprising for Malaysia who never taste lemon chicken but yet not all lemon chicken are available in the restaurant menu. The recipe derived from Chinese cooking style which hard to find halal restaurant served. We also ordered our lemon chicken dishes from Xing Zhu Restaurant, Cyberview Lodge and Putrajaya Seafood Restaurant by Tai Tong group. So our serving that night is a plus for her.

To prepare a chicken lemon wont take your time at all. We managed to serve all dishes 30 to 45 minutes. As chef always say, do the preparation in advance so that you will not be caught in the middle. The recipe is suitable for children because it has the sweetness, balance sourness and lots of protein.

Chinese Lemon Chicken

To cook the lemon chicken you will need following ingredients :

Ingredients A-to marinated the chicken

500gm boneless chicken -preferable without skin

1 full tablespoon of oyster sauce

1 small teaspoon of black pepper – to remove the chicken smell

1 full tablespoon of light soya sauce

1 beaten egg

3 full table spoon of Kentucky powder

Ingredients B – the lemon sauce

1 cup lemon concentrate – can be cordial or fresh squeeze lemon

** I’m using brickford lemon cordial. Very nice and refreshing

1 full table spoon of fish sauce

4 full table spoon of sugar – adjustable to you sweetness level

half cube chicken stock

2 full table spoon corn powder – to be melt in the water for thickening the sauce

To prepare it :

Ingredients A : Wash the chicken and cut into pieces. Preferable the size of your middle finger- but not that small or big. Nicely cut into bit size. Then put the black pepper, oyster sauce and light soya sauce onto the chicken and rub it so that every meat is cover and marinated. Leave about 10 to 20 minutes.

After the meat has absorb all the marinate sauce, deep the chicken into the beaten egg for coating and quickly tossed in the Kentucky powder. Make sure that the powder is well coat the chicken before you deep fried.

Heat the oils – any type of oils will do for deep frying the chicken. After that, turn the gas to medium and start deep in the chicken one by one into the frying pan. Make sure there is enough space for the chicken to move around. The fire need to slow down while putting the chicken into to avoid any unnecessary scene happen. This is also to prevent the coating burn while the chicken inside still raw.

After frying the chicken tossed on the plate that covered with tissue paper to eliminate the access oil. If you don;t do this, you will be leaving with soggy chicken instead of crispy chicken.

Ingredients B : Preparing the sauce will take around 6 to 10 minutes. First heat the pan with medium fire. Then pour the lemon juice/concentrate or cordial. While waiting for the juice to be heat up, pour the sugar, fish sauce and chicken stock into the pan. Then stir all together until boil. Then take a quick taste of it; the taste should reflect sweetness and sourness (not to sour) balance with the essence of fish and chicken stock. The essence should not overpowering the lemon taste. When you have taste it right, pour the corn powder that has be dilute with water to thicken the sauce. Quickly stir the mixture to avoid any crumple of the corn starch in the sauce. The sauce will be thicken and become clear. If you want to add some lemon cut into the sauce, this will be the correct time. The lemon cut will enhance the smell and taste. Taste your sauce for final inspection and once its perfect, served it by pour on top of the chicken or put side in a bowl for dipping.

In celebrating new born in the family, the parents is encourage to do small gathering attend by close relatives and friends. The event is filled with religious activities such as prayer, doa, surah chanted (Yassin, Qursi, Fatihah and etc) and berendoi song and normally done by local community people called ‘The Marhaban Group’. The Marhaban group is attended by group of people either man or woman group to perform the activities. The event is accompanied with Aqiqah, when you need to sacrifice animals that are allowed for the activities to be performed. The animal can either be goat, cow, Qibas or Unta. In Malaysia, it is common to have goat for the Aqiqah. After sacrifice the animal, it is strong encourage that the family to cook in sweet cooking home food and give away to immediate family, neighbour, friends and poor people. It is advisable 02 for boy and 01 for girl. This activity is not a compulsory activity to be performed and it is depending on the family financial.

At first, we decide to have Aeidan Aqiqah and Cukur Jambul event in July, 2 months after giving birth. But due to Ramadhan and Eidul-Fitri approaching, we have moved it after Eidul-Fitri together with open house for the family. It is more on welcoming and introducing the baby to our relatives and friends.

The marhaban group we still choose the same group that we had last event for Rayyan. We loved the group as they always give their best in every event that we hosted. They come is same uniform about 35 to 40 people depending on your request.  But we always request for full team to attend. Lucky we have big living hall that able to fit all (if all the furniture is out).

The event starts at 11:00am, attending by close relatives and friend, also the Marhaban team. 11:30am the marhaban start with prayer in Yassin, Qursi, Al-Fatihah and few surah for our late relatives. Everybody is welcome to submit their family who have died before during the prayer time.  We also prepare water that during the YASSIN reading and kept the water for our daily drinking.

After the Yassin, Qursi and other surah reading, the team will start the Cukur Jambul while singing song to our late Prophet Muhammad and the entire prophet before him with thanking Allah s.w.t for his gift to the family. I with Aeidan will be circling the group 3 times before they start cutting a bit of hair from Aeidan and give him Zam Zam water (holy water from Mecca). It is a belief that Zam Zam water can cure illness and also satisfying thirsty and hunger. In Aqiqah wise Zam Zam water is to open and improve the baby sensor for taste.

After Cukur Jambul event take place, Aeidan need to be put in the cradle for Berendoi session. The group sang a softy melody song. As usual, the entire mom will burst into tears while listening to the wording that Ustazah and the group are singing. Life can be so challenging now days but it is not a way of you forgetting your parent’s sacrifice- one of the song wording.

While doing the berendoi, Aeidan fall asleep in hubby laps. Well must say the berendoi really capture in his heart and hopefully that everything that we hope and pray will turn out well in future.  Look like he really cannot stand the test of sleeping after 7 am wake up to take bath and get ready.

While having this event, we have to ask my father to baby sit Rayyan at the AV room. Rayyan had been protective to his younger brother ever seen he first saw of Aeidan at the hospital. He cherishes love for Aeidan are divine and cannot be separated. He had this thinking that else people want to take his younger brother.  So, not to take the risk of screaming and crying by Muhammad Rayyan Harris towards Muhammad Aeidan Raffael, we decide to lock him up and only bring him down after the berendoi event take place.

After berendoi, all guests are being directed to our car porch where we had this little lunch gathering aka Open House Aidilfitri. We had Wadi Hadrawat from Jalan Ampang to be our main caterer, variety local dessert and candy buffet from my fb friend.

Our caterer comes a bit late as they are unable to locate our house, a bit disappointing plus sudden heavy rain at our area. Lucky only guest from Marhaban team and few of relatives and family friend will there if full guest list, I will be crying endless.

Our maid contributes yellow rice with beautiful decoration to be the main highlight for the day. Accompany with that we had side dishes ranging from fried chicken to authentic traditional Indonesian food to match the yellow rice.

Event can’t get better with hubby sponsoring Barbican drink (Arabic non-alcoholic beer) during the event. Thankful to Allah  s.w.t that we both being promoted after Aeidan birth and have extra to share with others.

As for door gift, we have decorated cookies in rompers (thanks to Kak Zida for the gorgeous cookies-we love it so much) and Arabic sweet giving out. We expected about 50 to 100 guests to come but Aeidan luck is shine brightly. We had about 250 to 300 guests come star egged –apology for those who didn’t received door gift. But we are honor of your attendance to our small house.

The event end at 01:00am with last 2 families visited us. Aeidan and Rayyam have been dozed off after 12 midnight leaving me and hubby still chatting with the last remaining guest. The event runs smoothly and thanks to all for making it happen.

First of all, last 4 months I had delivered a handsome baby boy weight 4.39kg @ 9:15am in Tawakal Hospital, Jalan Pahang, OT room (c-section again la) on Thurday 21/4/2011. We name the baby boy Muhammad Aeidan Raffael bin Akmal. The name give means of Little Fire & Guardian who announce the end of day. Quite scary huh! Yes, indeed the name is a bit firey but suprisingly Aeidan not that demanding baby. He sleep well at night and very active throughout the day. He likes to be sitted from 2 month and start responding to our babling on age of 2 month plus. Now he is entering 2nd phase 4 months old and love love to suck his finger, already show sign of eating and like to laugh out loud.

He is now weight at 7.8kg and quite slim compare to the older brother which is 2 year 3 month by this month but mistaken assume by other at 5 years old. His brother, Rayyan is overprotecting him from strangers to hold his ‘adik’. He will say no or mo mo (means no) to the person and gave a bit of him. He always kiss the baby, always helping us in taking his baby milk bottle and other stuff and also become more manja.

We admit that we always put our priority to Aeidan coz his still a baby. But nethertheless, I still love Rayyan,hug him, kiss him and sleep with him . Badan mcm teddy bear sedaapppp .

But Aeidan is a lovely boy, he like to smile whenever he see people around. Like to watch tv, and really pay attention. Sometimes he react. I wonder whether he already understand. Crying, tears a lot and lots of slyvia also. My old maid keep harrasing me for not eating what I like during my pregnancy, although I keep telling her, ‘dah makan la semuanya’. In our (malay) tradition, if the mother did not get what she want to eat, later when the baby came out. The baby will always have slyvia dropping. Well that what the old people said la. Nethertheless, I don’t have good appetiate when I pregnant. I love to eat chinese food often while at workplace and western with a twist of oriental food at home (self cooking). That why my baby skinny . Not like Rayyan, everything eat.

For the last 2 weeks 33 and 34, I have a bad habits of filling my daily activity, my movement become more restricted and I hardly can bend to take item on the floor. Pain suddenly attack my belly and I will feel breathless. Is the beginning of week 35, my schedule of visiting my gynae at Tawakal Hospital. This is my weekly followup as we need to monitor baby movement, weight and also my big enormous belly. I waited for my turn to enter my gynae consultant area and have chit chat with a few moms outside. Most of them commented that I’m having twins. I just smile and said no is only one and its a boy again. But judging from the size of my belly, hell yes is like I’m having twin or triplets! I can;t imagine that we are having twins or triplets for this pregnancy….can really stop factory and concentrate on raising them all!

My weight and my glucose with protein reading taken. I gain another kilo and the total for my pregnancy is 100 kg. Huhuhuhuuuuu 100KG! My god! What do I eat for the past 8 months?! I hardly consume rice at my workplace. I prefer wantan mee or yong tau foo instead of heavy meals. Only at home that I enjoyed my rice meals as home cooked is the best! Other than that, I really counted what I eat or drink because my diabetes will go high wire and another insulin jab will be increase. I’m sure that my physician love to ask for another blood sucking test which cost me a fortune and also pain.

My glucose as usual high from normal however, I do not suffer any extra protein in my kidney that can damage or interrupt the baby development in my womb. After completing all the procedure, I went back to my seat enjoying my angry birds while hubby busy entertaining Rayyan hyper active. He being running and talking non stop and I wonder which genetic that he is inherit as me and hubby is not the hyper active child. We both a silent child when we were young according to both our families. The hyper active genetic will be my 2nd sister and Rayyan is showing positive attitude towards that. May be during my 1st pregnancy for Rayyan, I were the kind cannot sit in on place, always on moving and talking! ekekekekek… well that is the condition that God only know.

While waiting for my number to be call, I have another premature contraction at my vagina. It’s really hurt and it feel that you will have the delivery at that time. Hubby who realize my face turn into pale, quickly grab mineral water for me to drink and calm me. He is well understand that the pain is stronger very day and he said if I hardly take it, he suggest that to have the delivery schedule somewhere around 20th or 21st instead of waiting untill 28th as we decided a few days ago.

After having the premature contraction pain, my number were called. It took me a while before I can get up and walk towards my gynae clinic consultant area. She is a very kind and pleasant doctor. Petit but beautiful and I always amazed for her appearance for her clinic reviews whenever I admitted to the hospital under her supervision. We do have a small chit chat and she directed me to the bed for scanning. Baby position is excellent which at the bottom and she is confirming the baby weight for the delivering will be around 4 kg. She said it is crucial to monitor baby movement although the baby heartbeat is stronger and baby is active in the womb. However, I can hardly feel any active movement done by Aeidan lately. The screen showing Aeidan is doing sidekick at my womb and another active movement with his toes. The 3d scan cannot be perform as the Aeidan is hiding from the view that enable his face to be capture.

After confirming my womb condition, my gynae agree to have the deliver on the 28th April as baby will be mature by 37 weeks and the complication risk of other organs not mature is resolve. So she signed 2nd MC paper for me to continue my resting period at home which total MC that I’m holding is nearly 1 month. I’ve being off duty since 4th April and stayed at home to do minimal movement to support the premature delivery on 33 weeks and continue wand up baby sitting Rayyan. The most happier person is Rayyan and my mom I guess,they are the most complaining person in the house for not seeing me frequently while I’m working. I go to work at 7.30am and went back at 10.30pm. Hardly can sit for family meals and play with Rayyan at night. Most of the time, my hubby will be the most considerate person taking care Rayyan needs at night and give me plenty of rest. I can’t wish for more for my hubby. He is my savier and my beloved. If there is people want to trade him for money or the richness in this world, I will still choose him. Although I admit he did not provide me with much fancy things but he have provided me with the greatest love in this world. How could I ever thank him for his sacrifice for all these years!

After confirming with my gynae, I went straight to my physician clinic to confirming my edd date. Another blood test request and there you go. Really pain in the ass as every visit I need to take blood test. I’m afraid of needle so can say I’m a needle-phobia person. We settle all our routine appointment with the doctor and when straight to lab for blood test and also for maternity room visiting. I’m having a single room for my delivery however, would like to see another options if the Premier Ward is available or the VIP room with pantry is available and suit our budget. We have estimate 12k for this delivery and this time we are quite ready financially and mentally compare to Rayyan situation before.

The Premier ward is located at 9th floor while the maternity place is located at 7th floor together with the nursery. If I were to stay at the Premier Ward floor, I will have to use the lift to visit my baby and my baby need to travel from the 7th floor to the 9th floor which is much hassle and inconvenient.

We deliver all the situation that i’m facing thru and looks a worried face at my gyne. She quickly exam my vagina for opening and she said the baby is still not going down properly and she suggest to have c-section instead of waiting for normal delivery. Me n akmal as decide from the beginning my slip disc come back for 7 years not experiencing any pain even pregnant with baby Rayyan.

I got a comment that my water level in my womb is a lot and the baby can go up to 3.6kg. It is because my uncontrolled diabetes which is I do control my diabetics plus I quite picky for my food especially at workplace. The doctor have assigned me with 2 steroid jab on saturday and sunday to mature the baby and to be ready for deliver at 35 weeks which is 2 weeks from now. She afraid that the water might break and I have to take jab while waiting for contraction at the labor room. So she assigned the jab earlier. She also ready for green form for admission for Executive Suite as usual. Everything is in order. Budget for this delivery will be +- RM8k inclusive baby jaundice and low glucose (prediction). Hopefully baby is strong! Peditrician has been assigned which is the same doctor treated baby Rayyan.

After this delivery I will going to retired to try to conceive baby girl as my heart strong believe that there will be another baby boy for the 3rd one. I suggest to Akmal to have my tiub to tied but he said there are too many cons from pros. So he suggest for jab which is 99% accurate to control birth same as using durex condom. Any who knows that after 4 years we might want to try again for baby girl after my financially steady and opt to get more money from my coming soon business.

Right now, my back hurt and I have no tendency to get to eat or sleep. I being a walking robot, doing all the errands and the only things that I want is too drink.  Either my face stuck infront of PC or doing somethings else. But as clock went to number 4 I will suddenly feel tired and sleepy and will over slept untill 9.30 in the morning. I afraid during my confinement times, the baby is following the routine. I only have 2 months to spend with my baby and need to be ready for my new workplace. I dunno whether I can coup with all this nonsense. Even with baby Rayyan me and hubby try to fit the schedule untill Baby Rayyan is 5 months old. Then we start to take long breath.

Now our dilemma is to choose the date-either is going to be on the 18th April or 20th April. However, I opt the option of attending Pureen Warehouse Sale. So I would like the baby to be out on 1st of May ekekekeke…hopefully God really hear my pray for now.

9.55am, the roller shutter open and I quickly ran to the warehouse with few mommies and daddy. Winner for running I must give 1 chinese couple that successfully climb from G to Level 2 with more faster than us. When reaching the warehouse venue, my eyes quickly locate the fisher price item.
